The objects that I find in a product exhibit, expo, art gallery; or better yet, in a National museum, for me, represent the best achievements of the human hand and the creative spirit that guide it. These are created by the artisan's/artist's expression, by what he wants to give/say to the viewer; to the world. These are creations inspired by the passion of the artists and artisans, and by their pursuit of perfection in their craft.
Perfection has many different forms. Perfection can come in the guise of a Michaelangelo painting on a chapel ceiling, or an Amorsolo painting about the countryside, with beautiful maidens basking under the radiance of the afternoon sun; or an Abueva sculpture set within the entrance of a country's foremost university.
Perfection can also come from the modern marvels of technology; that obliterates any chance of flaws developing when manufacturing objects of desires such as cars, motorbikes, watches, guns and even toys. Perfection can sometimes emanate from schizophrenic rage, resulting into a beautiful thing, even if no sane man can fathom the eccentricity of it's meaning. Or from love, which oftentimes sparks creative passion even for those suffering from "artistic-block".
In some cases, perfection is intangible; such as the desire to be creative, in ways that has never been done before. This blog is about the passion for excellence and the people; artists, collectors, art lovers, or simply lovers of something they deemed as beautiful, who embody that spirit.
